Did you know that CBD can help with high blood pressure?
A study in 2017 found that a single dose of cannabidiol (CBD) reduced the blood pressure of nine healthy human test subjects.
Nine men were administered a single 600mg dose of CBD oil, and researchers found that it reduced their resting blood pressure as compared to those who received a placebo.
The study also gave these men ‘stress tests’ normally designed to increase blood pressure. But interestingly enough, the single dose of CBD led these men to experience a smaller blood pressure increase than subjects normally do in response to these tests.
Researchers believe that the stress and anxiety reducing properties of CBD are behind the reason for it helping to lower blood pressure.
Other studies have shown that CBD can also help to reduce the inflammation and cell death associated with heart disease due to its powerful antioxidant and stress-reducing properties.
One of these studies found that CBD treatment reduced oxidative stress and prevented heart damage in diabetic mice with heart disease.
